Dilution Valve

Dilution Valve – V-Notch Segmented Ball Control Valve -1560 / 1555 / 1565 Series

The Dilution Valve is a high-performance V-Notch Segmented Ball Control Valve, specifically designed for precise dilution, consistency control, and low-flow regulation in demanding process applications. It is widely used where accurate addition of dilution water or chemicals is critical to maintaining product quality and process stability.
The valve combines the control accuracy of a globe valve with the robust construction and compact design of a ball valve. Its precision-machined V-notch ball geometry ensures excellent controllability at very low flow rates while maintaining high capacity at full opening. This makes the dilution valve ideal for continuous modulating service in severe and particle-laden media.

Design & Construction:

The valve incorporates a precision-machined V-notch segmented ball with shear-stream design, providing excellent control accuracy, reduced clogging, and stable operation even in fibrous, slurry, or particle-laden media.

Working Principle:

Working Principle
The Dilution Valve operates by rotating a V-notch segmented ball in response to a control signal
Open Position
At small openings, the V-shaped notch allows highly precise low-flow control As the valve opens further, the flow increases proportionally, maintaining stable regulation
Closed Position
Tight seating ensures reliable shut-off when the valve is fully closed The segmented design provides a shearing action, reducing clogging and ensuring consistent performance even with fibrous, slurry, or particle-laden media.

Automation & Control Options:

  • Control Modes: On/Off, Modulating (3–15 psi / 4–20 mA via I/P Converter)
  • Actuator Types: Spring Return (Fail-Safe), Double Acting
  • Air Control: Solenoid Valves (3/2, 5/2), FRL Unit (Filter Regulator Lubricator)
  • Feedback Systems: Limit Switch Box, Position Transmitter
  • Position Control: Pneumatic / Electro-Pneumatic Positioner, I/P Converter
