Snort Valve

Snort Valve – Series 1930

The Snort Valve – Series 1930 from SUDE Engineering Private Limited is a high-performance butterfly-type damper valve designed for installation in the cold-blast line of blast furnace systems. Its primary function is to rapidly vent excess air to the atmosphere without interrupting blower operation, maintaining pressure balance and preventing gas backflow, thereby ensuring smooth and safe furnace operation.

Engineered for extreme industrial conditions, the Snort Valve provides reliable performance during pressure surges, stove switchover, or maintenance operations. Its robust butterfly design and precision-sealing mechanism deliver consistent operation, minimizing the risk of mechanical failure and ensuring system integrity.

Constructed from high-strength, heat-resistant materials, the valve withstands the thermal and mechanical stresses typical of steel plant environments. It ensures fast actuation and dependable airflow control, protecting downstream equipment and maintaining operational efficiency during critical blast furnace processes.

The valve supports manual, pneumatic, or electric actuation, allowing seamless integration into automated plant control systems. Widely used in steel plants, ironmaking facilities, and heavy industrial processes, the Snort Valve reflects SUDE Engineering Private Limited’s commitment to high-performance engineering, safety, and reliable industrial solutions.

Working Principle:

Normal Operation
The butterfly disc remains open, allowing the blower to supply cold air to the furnace and stove.
Rapid Pressure Relief Mode
During high-pressure conditions or maintenance, the valve opens fully to vent excess air through the blow-off line to the atmosphere.
Positive Pressure Maintenance
Maintains slight positive pressure in the blast line, preventing furnace gas from backflowing into the blower.
Noise Suppression
Integrated silencer reduces discharge noise levels to below 85 dB, ensuring safe operation in plant environments.
