Double Disc Gate Valve

Double Disc Gate Valve – Series 1914

High-Performance Bi-Directional Isolation Valve

The Double Disc Gate Valve – Series 1914 from SUDE Engineering Private Limited is a precision-engineered bi-directional isolation valve designed to provide reliable, bubble-tight shut-off in both flow directions. Featuring two parallel discs that press outward against precision-machined seats through a wedge or spreader mechanism, this valve ensures uniform sealing pressure, reduces seat wear, and delivers consistent isolation performance under demanding process conditions.

Unlike conventional single-disc gate valves, the dual-disc design distributes sealing forces evenly across the valve seats, improving operational reliability and extending service life. The valve construction accommodates high pressures, temperature variations, and a wide range of industrial fluids, including steam, water, oil, gas, and chemically compatible media, making it ideal for critical isolation applications in power generation, process industries, chemical plants, and utility pipelines.

Built with a robust body and durable sealing components, the valve is engineered to withstand heavy-duty service while minimizing maintenance requirements. Its smooth wedge operation ensures controlled movement of discs and reliable seating even in high-temperature or abrasive environments. The design also reduces the risk of leakage during system startup, shutdown, or emergency isolation, enhancing overall plant safety and efficiency.

The Double Disc Gate Valve supports manual, electric, or pneumatic actuation, allowing integration into automated process control systems for enhanced operational flexibility. Widely used in pipelines requiring secure isolation, pressure retention, and reliable bi-directional shut-off, this valve reflects SUDE Engineering Private Limited’s commitment to precision engineering, durability, and high-performance industrial solutions.

Working Principle:

Open Position
The discs retract upward, separating from the seat rings. The full-bore opening ensures unobstructed flow with minimal pressure drop.
Closing Action
The discs move downward, and a wedge or toggle spreads them tightly against both seat rings, providing uniform contact pressure for tight shut-off.
Seating Pressure
In smaller valves, sealing is achieved by mechanical wedging. In larger valves, line pressure assists sealing.
